New Tax Credit for Landlords

The 2023 Budget brought in a new tax credit for landlords of residential properties

For 2024 this relief is a minimum of €600 or 20% of rental profit

For 2025 this relief is a minimum of €800 or 20% of rental profit

For 2026 and 2027, it goes up to €1,000 tax credit

The above is subject to following restrictions on the 31st December of the year of claim:

1. Registered with PRTB
2. Actively marketed for rent if not rented
3. Not rented to family or connected persons
4. Clawback will arise if sell the property within 4 years or lets to family in that period
5. LPT has to be up to date
