Can I claim for physio or similar treatment expenses against my taxes ?
Examples of allowable treatments under the heading of physiotherapy include treatment by a:
1. Physiotherapist,
2. Chiropractor,
3. Osteopath, or
4. Bonesetter.
In order for relief to be available, the treatment must be availed of on prescription
by a practitioner.
Tax Relief is not allowable where the treatment is on the basis of self-referral.
Tax Relief is given at rate of 20% and it is after any refunds from health insurers.
You can go back 4 years to 2018 tax year to claim any similar expenses not claimed previously
Acupuncture treatment is not allowable unless carried out by a person who is a
qualified practitioner for the purposes of section 469 such as a GP
