Tax relief on donations to sports donation
You may be able to claim tax relief on donations made to your sports body if it is:
- a revenue approved sports body
- and the body has an approved project with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS). For example a new soccer pitch or track.
The donations must be at least €250 in the tax year.
Tax relief depends on whether you are a PAYE tax-payer or a self assessed person
If you are PAYE tax-payer, the sports body gets your tax relief
If you are self assessed, you can claim the tax relief at your highest rate of tax
