What is Jobsplus ?

Jobsplus is an employer incentive which rewards employers who employ jobseekers on the Live Register.

It is to encourage employers and businesses to employ people who have been out of work for long periods.

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) pays the incentive to the employer monthly in arrears over a 2-year period. It provides 2 levels of payment – €7,500 and €10,000

A grant of €7,500 will be paid to qualifying employers over two years for the following categories of jobseeker:

1. Jobseekers under 25 years of age, who have been on the live register for at least 4 months (104 days) in the previous 6 months.
2. Jobseekers over 25 years of age and under 50, who are on the live register and have been unemployed for at least 12 months (312 days) in the previous 18 months.
3. People who used to get the One-Parent Family Payment, whose youngest child is at least 7 years of age and under 14, who transferred to the live register and are now getting Jobseekers Allowance Transitional Payment (no qualifying periods applies).
4. People with refugee status who are getting Jobseekers Allowance (no qualifying period applies).

A grant of €10,000 will be paid to qualifying employers over two years for the following categories of jobseeker:

1. Jobseekers under 50 years of age, who are on the live register and have been unemployed for at least 36 months (936 days) of the last 42 months.
2. Jobseekers over 50 years of age, who are on the live register and have been unemployed for at least 12 months (312 days) in the last 18 months.

There are a number of qualifying conditions in order for employers and employees to avail of the scheme
