Social welfare entitlements for self employed ?

If you are self employed or a director, what social welfare benefits are you entitled to ?

If you are self employed, you would be paying the S stamp which is 4% of earnings or €500 minimum per year

PRSI at Class S provides cover for:

  1. Widows, Widowers and Surviving Civil Partners Contributory pension
  2. Guardians payment (Contributory)
  3. State pension (Contributory)
  4. Maternity and Paternity Benefit
  5. Adoptive Benefit
  6. Treatment Benefit, (Dental, Optical and Aural) with effect from 27 March 2017)
  7. Invalidity pension ( since December 2017 )

The above is on assumption that sufficient stamps have been paid
