You can obtain an income tax relief or credit of 13.5% of qualifying home improvement expenses

This is the same as the vat charged on the job by the tradesperson doing the work

The credit is paid over the 2 years following the year in which the work was carried out

The minimum qualifying expenditure is €5,000 and the maximum is €30,000

It can apply to your own home or to rental properties.
