Who can get a refund of DIRT on deposit interest

You can get a refund of DIRT of 41% on deposit interest earned if

1) You are over 65 and your total income is less 18,000 if you are single or 36,000 if you are married

A Form 54 can be got from the revenue website to make a claim for refund of DIRT paid over the last 4 years

2) If you a first time buyer who is saving a lump sum towards a purchase of a home up to end of 2017. A refund can be obtained for any DIRT paid on deposit interest on said savings
