Permanent health contributions are premiums paid for income protection in event of a serious illness
You must usually have to be ill for a delay period (three to six months) before the income starts to become payable.
If it is a revenue approved scheme, you can claim amounts contributed against your taxable income and get tax relief on same. You cannot claim more than 10% of your gross income for a year.
Check your bank statements to see have you paying any direct debits for income protection and have not been claiming same. You can go back to 2011 to claim same if you have not claimed previously
