Avoid paying stamp duty twice on credit cards
Letter of Closure if moving credit card providers
If you are closing your credit card you should ask your credit card provider to send you a ‘letter of closure’ which confirms you have paid the stamp duty on the account.
Once you receive this letter you should send it to your new bank to avoid getting charged for stamp duty twice. Your letter of closure is an important document so keep it somewhere safe and before you send it to your new bank, make a copy of it.
