Tax bands for a married couple

What is the tax bands for a married couple ?

If you are a married couple, the standard position would be the first €42,800 of your income is taxed at 20% with the balance taxed at 40%

If each of you has income in your own right, the €42,800 standard rate band may be increased by the lower of

(a) €24,800 (i.e. up to a maximum of €67,600)

(b) the lower of the two incomes
