Income exempt from USC

What payments and income are exempt from USC?

The following payments are exempt from USC:

• 1. all payments received from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP)
  2. Your income will be exempt from USC if it is less than €13,000 over a year.
  3. income on which Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) has already been paid
  4. early childcare supplement
  5. some employer benefits, such as travel passes, Cycle to Work Scheme
  6. income qualifying for Childcare services relief
  7. income qualifying for Rent a room relief
  8. income from scholarship
  9. pre-retirement access to Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)
  10. capital gains
